DUW 4601 is a hand-wound date movement from NOMOS Glashütte with opulent polishing. The fine sunbeam ribbing extends to the edge of the date ring plate, and is clearly visible through the large sapphire crystal case back. The patented technology of the date mechanism underneath is no less striking.

Safety instructions
NOMOS uses 316 L stainless steel for all cases and buckles. This type of stainless steel is not fully free of nickel, but it does not pass nickel on to the skin; the amount of nickel in the alloy is about 12 percent. Thus, the amount of nickel passed to the skin is less than 0.2 micrograms per square centimeter per week and far below the medicinally acceptable amount. Other stainless steel alloys might have a lower percentual amount of nickel in the alloy, but they pass more of it on to the skin.

Caliber
This date caliber effectively showcases the NOMOS swing system, our proprietary escapement. This innovative component with a blue balance spring is surrounded by fine sunbeam ribbing. It not only enhances the three-quarter plate, which is a traditional feature of Glashütte watchmaking, but also incorporates the plate of the date ring around the movement. To make the NOMOS swing system even easier to observe, the balance cock has been elegantly skeletonized. And that's just the exterior of this fine movement. The picture does not show the mainspring barrel, which can store power for 52 hours. The quick-set date is also particularly convenient. You can easily jump forward in time with just a few turns of the crown. To do so, the crown must be pulled into the second of three positions.
