With this hand-wound movement, the future is a pleasure. Refined in the Glashütte tradition, it not only contains the innovative NOMOS date mechanism, in which the date ring is wrapped around the movement, keeping it elegantly thin. It also features a convenient quick-set mechanism. If the watch has not been wound for a while, it can be brought back up to date in a tick. Simply pull the crown out to the second of three positions and then turn it a little; with a single turn of the crown, you are already two days ahead.
This fine sunbeam ribbing was exclusive to the calibers of our gold watches Lambda and Lux until now. Here it radiates from the NOMOS swing system and extends to the plate of the date ring. After all, it is technology that is worth celebrating.
The NOMOS swing system features a distinctive blue balance spring and a perfect balance wheel. The balance cock is skeletonised here, so that its oscillations can be observed even better.
When fully wound, watches with the hand-wound caliber DUW 4601 tick for up to 52 hours. The energy required is transferred from the crown to the mainspring barrel via a gear train, from where it is released in a carefully controlled manner. A battery that can be refilled indefinitely.
