Some people seek out novelty, aim for the top, and value environments of glass and steel. Others love brickwork, warmth, tradition, and build dependable things amidst the hustle and bustle. And then there are those who are drawn to the openness, diversity, and connectedness of city living.

The new Metro 33 in detail

The multi-award-winning watch in stainless steel—with a smart size of 33 millimeters and manual winding

In the colors all silver, muted red, and sage, and with its signature dot indexes, Metro 33 reflects a metropolitan attitude to life. The Alpha movement by NOMOS Glashütte is at work inside—offering quality timekeeping with protection of origin for navigating the metropolises of our world.

The minute track is the star of this watch. With numerals at five-minute intervals, the time in between is spotted pink on the warm brick red of the dial. The seconds hand also has this cheerful, gentle tone.

Sage symbolizes the salubrious greenery of the city, as well as freshness and openness. The knurling on the Metro crown is reminiscent of that on watchmaking tools.

The motor

Alpha is the hand-wound movement by NOMOS Glashütte, fine-tuned in six positions for utmost precision. The caliber draws on a reliable power reserve of up to 43 hours. The rhodium-plated surfaces of the movement are decorated by hand with the Glashütte ribbing and NOMOS perlage. Tempered blue screws represent the 175 year-old tradition of Glashütte watchmaking.

The Alpha caliber is NOMOS Glashütte’s highly acclaimed classic. It was our first movement—and the one that still powers more of our watches than any other.
