With its Roman numerals and mechanical movement, made by our watchmakers in Glashütte, the NOMOS classic Ludwig is a timepiece of stable value; it also enjoys a protected designation of origin throughout Europe. This special limited edition captivates with rare historical details and an inscription marking the occasion: "375 Jahre Westfälischer Friede" (375 years of the Peace of Westphalia). A perfectly designed and history-conscious watch, of which only 375 specimens exist in a total of four versions—unity in diversity!

Ludwig—375 Years of the Peace of Westphalia in detail

An unmistakable watch from Glashütte, understated and exclusive in equal measure

Commemorating the Peace of Westphalia of 1648 as the cradle of civil coexistence in Europe, NOMOS Glashütte has collaborated with the Freisfeld and Oeding-Erdel jewelers in Münster and Osnabrück to produce a special limited edition of the classic Ludwig in various sizes.

The radiant white enameled dial, the elegant leaf shape of the hands and the red rhombuses in the railroad minute markers are three classic features of the special edition.

The motor

Alpha

Alpha is the hand-wound movement by NOMOS Glashütte, fine-tuned in six positions for utmost precision. The caliber draws on a reliable power reserve of up to 43 hours. The rhodium-plated surfaces of the movement are decorated by hand with the Glashütte ribbing and NOMOS perlage. Tempered blue screws represent the 175 year-old tradition of Glashütte watchmaking.

The Alpha caliber is NOMOS Glashütte’s highly acclaimed classic. It was our first movement—and the one that still powers more of our watches than any other.

DUW 5001 stands for excellent accuracy, a great deal of craftsmanship, Glashütte heritage—and a dash of independence.
