The Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany is turning 75. NOMOS Glashütte is celebrating the occasion with six special limited-edition Ludwig models—a watch not only for lawyers, attorneys, and civil servants, but for all those who value the message engraved on the back, which is the opening line of German Basic Law: “Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar.” (“Human dignity shall be inviolable.”)

Ludwig – 75 Jahre Grundgesetz in detail

The perfect business card on the wrist

The word “Nomos” comes from Greek, meaning justice, law, and order. The classic Ludwig model with Roman numerals expresses this to the last detail. The special edition is comprised of watches in six sizes, three of which are hand-wound and three automatic, with one featuring an exceptionally classic date with Roman numerals. Each of the six dress watches is limited to just 75 pieces and regulated according to chronometer values.

Perfectly positioned: The slender stainless steel case with a particularly fine bezel sits gracefully on the wrist and the lugs are harmoniously curved.

At 6 o’clock there is a section symbol—in black on the hand-wound models and gold on the neomatik models. The inscription “75 Jahre Grundgesetz” can be found just beneath it.

The Alpha caliber is NOMOS Glashütte’s highly acclaimed classic. It was our first movement—and the one that still powers more of our watches than any other.

The neomatik caliber DUW 3001: an automatic movement of an entirely new caliber. Highly precise and at 3.2 millimeters, extremely thin. The proprietary NOMOS swing system keeps the time within. You can recognize it by the tempered blue balance spring.

DUW 6101: neomatik date, a high-end mechanism from Glashütte. This neomatik caliber is not only very large but, at only 3.6 millimeters in height, also exeptionally slender. The date is located exactly where it should be—at the edge of the dial. The fact that it can be set forwards or backwards quickly and easily? Just one of many user-friendly features.
