NOMOS Glashütte: Our calibers

Deutsche Uhrenwerke NOMOS Glashütte
The caliber is the driving force of every mechanical watch. Calibers from Deutsche Uhrenwerke NOMOS Glashütte, or DUW for short, tick inside watches from NOMOS Glashütte. Hand-wound and automatic movements, developed in-house and manufactured in our own workshops—each one a unique piece with specific characteristics, as well as innovative, thin, and finely regulated in six positions.
Highly efficient
The automatic movements from NOMOS Glashütte

Automatic calibers harness the power of movement. DUW movements with automatic winding have a highly efficient rotor that winds in both directions. Turning the page of a book or opening a door is enough to generate new energy—whether with a date display, worldtime mechanism, or without further complications.
Very personal
The hand-wound movements from NOMOS Glashütte

Hand-wound watches offer the pleasure of regularly using the crown. Winding the movement before putting it on is a delightful ritual that many wearers appreciate. Even for a date or power reserve display, the finely finished hand-wound calibers from NOMOS Glashütte need nothing more than this manually generated energy.
Works of watchmaking art from Glashütte
The Atelier calibers of Lambda and Lux

The gold watches Lambda and Lux are created in the NOMOS Atelier. Their movements, DUW 1001 and DUW 2002 (in tonneau form), feature swan-neck fine adjustment, a screw balance, engravings by hand on the balance cock, gold chatons, hand-beveled edges, and a double mainspring barrel. They are miniature works of art that celebrate the beauty of Glashütte watchmaking.
