Werner Aisslinger associates the Autobahn by NOMOS with travel, with looking at the speedometer and with a love of mechanical watches. The design of the Director’s Cut A3 special model is based on the dashboard instruments of the 80s. “The luminous tangerine ring on the white dial emphasizes the sportiness of this watch.” Despite the intensity of this color, there is still room for subtle accents: the light blue neomatik lettering indicates that a new-generation NOMOS automatic movement is at work in this watch. The same beautiful color was chosen for the hands.
Precise display on the double curved dial. The first curved line forms the inwardly domed rehaut. The small second dial, also concave, creates a separate plane for the seconds hand.
Anyone who has gotten the date wrong can easily set this right—the crown can be used to quickly turn the days forward and backward. NOMOS developed and patented a special mechanism for quick adjustment in both directions.
NOMOS Glashütte Deutsche Uhrenwerke is inscribed in raised, gold-plated lettering on the rotor. This high level of manufacturing is a special quality feature of NOMOS watches.
With its fine scaling on a white silver-plated dial, the Autobahn Director’s Cut A3 is particularly easy to read. The NOMOS Swing System, the company’s proprietary escapement, ensures excellent timekeeping properties.
The fixed clasp with cutouts and a fine link bracelet form the unique metal strap of the Limited Edition Director’s Cut.
The crown of the Autobahn is conical in shape: the housing’s diameter is slightly larger than on the other side.

Caliber
In all NOMOS calibers, the date ring is placed around the movement. In neomatik date, this caliber is particularly large. The first neomatik caliber with a date mechanism, it remains wonderfully slender. The date display can be made even clearer, and is particularly legible.
